Online payments in your CRM (DropTheFee)
Rowan takes in-person payments on your card terminal. For everything paid online in your CRM (invoices, payment links, order forms, deposits, memberships), use the DropTheFee payment app. Your clients pay on your DropTheFee merchant account, the same account your terminal uses.
Set it up
- Install the DropTheFee app from the marketplace (or ask us to install it).
- Open Payments › Integrations › DropTheFee › Manage. On the Live tab, enter your TPN, merchant (Ecom) token, API key and secret key from your DropTheFee portal. Keys are encrypted and never shown again.
- Click Connect, then make DropTheFee the default payment provider.
Want to try it first? Use the Test (sandbox) tab with sandbox keys and turn on Test mode in Payments.
What your clients see
- Each item with its cash price and card price, then a secure card form. The card price comes from your DropTheFee account settings, the same as your terminal.
- Bank payment (ACH) on the secure form, if it's turned on for your account.
- For memberships and other repeating charges, a box to tick confirming the amount and how often it repeats.
- A box to save their card with you for next time.
Saved cards and repeating charges
Saved cards are kept by your DropTheFee gateway, not in the CRM. From a contact you can charge a saved card (for example a no-show fee) and start a subscription. Repeating charges run on schedule; if a card is declined it's tried again the next day, up to three times.
Refunds
Refund from the payment in your CRM. On the same day it's a void, so nothing shows on the client's statement. After that it's a refund, and you can refund part of it.
The DropTheFee page in your CRM also lists recent payments and active subscriptions.
